Remembrance and Rebirth 9/11/2001

It is a day no one can forget. Where were you and what were you doing?

Often we hear people say that they can’t imagine how people can get through such terrible times. But they do, we all do. The human spirit carries us through, no matter how overwhelming our grief.

Through our company’s 9/11 relief efforts, we helped sponsor the making of a full-length documentary – REBIRTH. This film takes the viewer on a profound journey beginning with one of the deadliest acts of terrorism in history. The film was produced by a team of seasoned, Hollywood filmmakers who have worked together since September 11, 2001, to create a compelling film experience and a unique historical record and resource. Their film, first shown at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, is a living testament that honors the victims and heroes by chronicling the lives of five people directly affected by 9/11 over a nine-year period.

In the film, you will meet five ordinary people thrust into an extraordinary moment in time. At the same time, you become a witness to the physical renewal of ground zero, the former World Trade Center site. The human stories become an interwoven portrait of resilience in action, and a vital reflection of the national yearning to remember, honor and restore our dreams.

Since early 2002, 14 cameras have been chronicling the redevelopment of the site. One picture is captured every five minutes, 24 hours a day. Though the film records the first seven years of rebuilding, the cameras continue to roll, even now.
