Bill McDermott is Executive Vice President of AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company's Corporate Markets Group and a member of the company's Executive Management Committee.

Mr. McDermott joined AXA Equitable in September 2007 to launch the company's Corporate Markets business and develop innovative retirement solutions for Fortune 1000 companies, leveraging AXA Equitable's existing distribution platforms and organizational capabilities.

Prior to joining AXA Equitable, Mr. McDermott spent 11 years at Fidelity Investments, working in a number of divisions during his tenure. Most recently, he was Executive Vice President of Large Corporate Market Retirement Services at Fidelity Employer Services Co. in Marlborough, MA, where he was responsible for all sales, relationship management, marketing, communications and educational functions related to the retirement needs of Fortune 500 corporations.

Earlier, he held several executive level positions of increasing responsibility in Fidelity's Human Resources Services business. Prior to that, he spent eight years as Senior Vice President, Sales – Large Corporate Markets, where he was the top sales producer five times and responsible for new relationships with more than 40 of the largest companies in the world.

From 1987 to 1996, Mr. McDermott was a partner in Business Development at Hewitt Associates, where he was responsible for sales and business development in benefits outsourcing and compensation services.

Mr. McDermott began his career with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Villanova University.
