Barbara Goodstein
Barbara Goodstein is Chief Innovation Officer and Executive Vice President of Marketing for AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company. She is also a member of the Executive Management Committee. Ms. Goodstein was appointed Chief Innovation Officer in June 2007.
As Chief Innovation Officer, Ms. Goodstein is responsible for the design and implementation of AXA Equitable enterprise-wide innovation strategy. She leads the Marketing and Innovation business group, a team of experts responsible for directing all research of new business concepts and evaluating their potential for the company.
The Marketing and Innovation business group also manages the company's At RetirementSM platform, focused on providing holistic advice, financial education, product solutions, and services to individuals approaching or at retirement. The At RetirementSM program, which is through the AXA Equitable Retirement Planning Program at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, educates AXA Equitable's financial professionals specifically on retirement planning.
As Executive Vice President of Marketing, Ms. Goodstein has overall responsibility for AXA Equitable's company-wide Marketing, Advertising and Internet Strategy and Development business teams. Ms. Goodstein was appointed EVP and Head of Marketing for AXA Financial in July 2005. She leads the development of all marketing programs and sales materials. She also directs market intelligence research and the creation of company-wide advertising and promotion.
Immediately prior to joining AXA Financial, Ms. Goodstein was senior vice president of Personal Financial Services for JP Morgan Chase - a platform she created that provides a broad range of banking and brokerage services to mass affluent clients within the branch system. Earlier, Ms. Goodstein was creator, president and CEO of Instinet.com, a retail entry into the online brokerage industry. She also held senior management positions at Scudder Kemper Investments, Van Eck Global, Bankers Trust and Shearson Lehman Brothers.
Ms. Goodstein earned her M.B.A. in Marketing from Columbia University Graduate School of Business and her B.A. from Brown University. She holds the Series 7, 63 and 24 registrations.
