Christopher M. "Kip" Condron
Christopher M. “Kip” Condron was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of AXA Financial, Inc. and a member of the AXA Group Management Board in May 2001. In addition, Mr. Condron is Chairman of the Board, President and Chief Executive Officer of AXA Financial’s principal insurance subsidiary, AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company and is responsible for AllianceBernstein, AXA’s majority owned Asset Management firm. In December 2009, Mr. Condron was also named global head of Life & Savings and Health businesses for AXA Group.
Immediately prior to joining AXA Financial, Mr. Condron served both as President and Chief Operating Officer of Mellon Financial Corporation, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Dreyfus Corporation since 1995.
Mr. Condron joined The Boston Company in 1989 as Vice Chairman and head of the Private Client Group. He was named Executive Vice President of Mellon in 1993, when it acquired The Boston Company. Prior to joining The Boston Company, Mr. Condron was Co-President of AYCO Corporation, the financial and tax planning subsidiary of American Express, which acquired his Pittsburgh-based financial planning firm, Condron Associates. Mr. Condron is a Board Member of AllianceBernstein Corporation and AXA Financial, Inc. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of KBW, Inc. and serves as Chairman of its Compensation Committee.
Mr. Condron is a native of Scranton, Pennsylvania. He received a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Scranton, where he now serves as Chairman of its Board of Directors, as well as a trustee and Chairman of the President’s Business Council.
