AXA Equitable Leverages Strengths Of AXA Partners And Usfl, Signals Major Commitment To Wholesale Life Market
New York, NY - AXA Equitable announced today that operations of two units marketing life insurance products to independent Brokerage General Agents - AXA Partners and U.S. Financial Life Insurance Co. (USFL) - are joining forces to leverage opportunities to significantly expand AXA’s wholesale life business.
The announcement was made by Stan Tulin, Vice Chairman and CFO of AXA Equitable. AXA Partners and USFL will report to Mr. Tulin.
AXA Equitable Senior Vice Presidents Gary Hirschkron and Tim Herr have been named Managing Directors. Mr. Hirschkron will oversee distribution activities, while Mr. Herr becomes responsible for operations.
In making the announcement, Mr. Tulin said, "We see opportunities for substantial growth resulting from our ability to provide more creative and integrated product solutions as well as a service platform enhanced by the best practices from each standalone operation. Working together expands our potential with existing clients, and significantly enhances the strength and expertise we can devote to cases requiring special attention. Clearly, this moves AXA closer to our goal of becoming a leader in third-party life distribution."
USFL and AXA Partners, formerly known as MONY Partners, became AXA businesses when AXA Financial, parent of AXA Equitable, acquired MONY Life in July 2004. AXA Partners distributes AXA Equitable life products to brokerage firms and BGAs. Those products include Athena II UL and Athena II SUL, AXA Equitable Incentive Life and Survivorship Incentive Life Series and AXA Equitable Level Term Series.
USFL, with its strong brand equity, is a manufacturer of term and universal life insurance, recognized particularly for its use of a proprietary underwriting methodology called Clinical Underwriting® to make informed underwriting decisions for people with medical risks.
