Bill Miller Joins AXA Distributors As Chief Sales Officer

NEW YORK, NY - William C. Miller Jr. has joined AXA Distributors LLC as Chief Sales Officer, effective April 24th, it was announced today by Jamie Shepherdson, President of AXA Distributors and Executive Vice President of AXA Equitable. Subject to Board approval in May, Mr. Miller will become a Senior Vice President of AXA Equitable and an Executive Vice President of AXA Distributors. He will report to Mr. Shepherdson.

Mr. Miller becomes responsible for annuity sales across all channels, including the broker/dealer, bank, independent financial planner and AXA Advisors channels.

In making the announcement, Mr. Shepherdson said, "Bill is a significant addition to the management team and reinforces AXA’s commitment to growing its position within the annuity market place. Bill has achieved significant success in the third-party industry and brings with him an exceptional understanding of the wholesale distribution business model."

Before joining AXA Distributors Mr. Miller was Senior Vice President and Head of Distribution for all channels within Lincoln Financial Distributors for the American Legacy product series. Prior to that, Bill led the Independent Financial Planner channel and was responsible for all annuity, mutual fund, managed account and life sales in that channel.

Prior to heading the Independent Financial Planner channel for Lincoln Financial Distributors, Mr. Miller was National Sales Manager for the Wirehouse and Regional Broker Dealer channels of the American Legacy product division. He earlier worked as a Regional Sales Manager and later as a Divisional Sales Manager in the Wood Logan wholesale division of Manulife Financial. Prior to that, Bill was a Regional Vice President in the mutual fund wholesale operations of Pilgrim Baxter & Associates. He is a graduate of Hobart College.
