CLAUDE METHOT JOINS AXA EQUITABLE TO LEAD LIFE AND ANNUITY PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT

New York, NY -September 20, 2007 -Claude Methot has joined AXA Equitable Life Insurance Company as Senior Vice President and Chief Product Officer. He reports directly to Christopher "Kip" Condron, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AXA Equitable, who made today's announcement.

In this key role, Mr. Methot will have responsibility for all of AXA Equitable's life insurance and annuity product design.  He will team with the company's actuarial and finance areas to assure appropriate product pricing, asset/liability match, risk analysis and underwriting approach. He will also partner with the company's marketing and distribution areas to provide our distributors with the best products to meet client needs.

Mr. Methot comes to AXA Equitable from its parent organization, the global AXA Group. Most recently, he served as a Senior Vice President in charge of Offer and Innovation for Life and Property & Casualty in Group Marketing, working closely with Mr Condron.

When we initiated the exportation of AXA Equitable's highly succesful Accumulator^(r)variable annuity to AXA Group's retirement markets overseas, Claude was pivotal in adapting its features and pricing to local conditions."

Accumulator^(r)is AXA Group's first global product offering. Originally designed by AXA Equitable for the U.S. retirement market, versions of Accumulator ^(r)have been launched throughout Europe and Asia.

Mr. Methot joined AXA Group in 1999 as a Corporate Actuary. In 2002, he was named Group Chief Actuary and Director of Product Development for Life Products.

Prior to joining AXA Group, Mr. Methot occupied a variety of managerial positions in Proximas's Group Life Insurance and Savings, including Actuarial Services, Major Accounts, Portfolio Management and Savings Business Team. Mr. Methot began his financial services career as a benefits consultant for William M. Mercer Limited in Canada.

Mr. Methot received an Actuarial Diploma from Laval University in Quebec. He is a qualified member of L'Institut de Actuaires (France) and an associate of the Society of Actuaries.
