Experience with New Jersey Educators
As of January 31, 2004, our current customer base of New Jersey educators consists of over 60,500 employees, who participate among 1,068 plans. The assets in these plans total over $1.5 billion.

New Jersey and AXA: A Special Relationship
As part of our commitment to the communities we serve in New Jersey and across the country, we are deeply involved in several initiatives to help improve our educational system and help families and their children receive access to college. In addition, our commitment to helping educate employees has led to our being tapped to develop a financial education program for student-athletes in Division 1A schools nationwide. Following is some background on a few of these initiatives.

AXA Supports New Jersey Superintendents: CBS Award
Last year, we received an award from the Citizens for Better Schools (CBS), a non-profit organization that strives to improve New Jersey's public schools, for our support of its "Practicum for New Superintendents" program. This program aims to stop the high turnover of first and second-year superintendents by matching them up with experienced superintendents to discuss issues and share strategies.

Scholarships: Supporting Our Future
AXA, through our national philanthropic program AXA Achievement, helps families address the growing challenge of sending their children to college through both national and local scholarships.

AXA Achievers - recipients of AXA Achievement scholarships, are students who are well rounded and determined to succeed. They care about their family and community and have demonstrated excellence outside the classroom at a job, sport or extracurricular activity. Essentially, these students are achievers - young people who want to succeed and try hard.

AXA Achievement is funded by the AXA Foundation, the philanthropic arm of AXA Financial, Inc.

National Scholarships
Through the AXA Achievement Scholarship, in association with U.S. News & World Report, $670,000 in scholarships is awarded annually to 52 eligible high school seniors nationwide. This scholarship provides a $10,000 scholarship in each state, plus Washington DC and Puerto Rico. Ten national recipients also receive an additional $15,000, a computer, and an offer of an internship at an AXA Financial office.

Local Scholarships
Through the AXA Achievement Community Scholarship Program, up to $750,000 in scholarships will be awarded nationwide. It provides up to 375 $2,000 scholarships to eligible high school seniors who live in the community surrounding our branch offices.

Offering Advice by Sponsoring National Scholarship Month
Every May, we sponsor National Scholarship Month, a month devoted to offering resources to families on how to financially prepare and pay for college, including financial literacy and college-readiness training for parents. The goal is to increase awareness of the need for scholarships and higher education.

Helping College Students Better Deal with their Finances: Keeping $core
In 2003, we launched Keeping $core, a comprehensive financial awareness and education program for the Division 1A Athletic Directors' Association, which will become part of its CHAMPS Program. Through Keeping $core, student-athletes will learn about managing and using budgets, checking and savings accounts and credit cards.

The CHAMPS Program is designed to help student-athletes develop in five areas: academic, athletics, personal development, career development and community service.
